Chartsiotis Accuses AKEL of Populism Factory – Damianou Responds

Justice Minister Marios Chartsiotis accused AKEL of producing populism and misinformation. He commented on criticisms from AKEL MP Aristos Damianou regarding the meeting of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Parliament on organized crime.
Mr. Chartsiotis stated that during AKEL's governance, there were 67 murders, 12 of which were related to organized crime. Aristos Damianou responded that public officials should withstand criticism and that politics should not be personalized.
DISY MP Nikos Georgiou stated that inappropriate references were made by the Justice Minister during the parliamentary session. He also commented on the bill on legal surveillance, which is currently with the legal service for review.
