Tsiaras: Farmers Who Agreed to Dialogue Were Bullied

The Minister of Rural Development, Kostas Tsiaras, denounced that farmers who agreed to participate in a dialogue with the government were bullied by their colleagues.
In statements to OPEN, Mr. Tsiaras mentioned that 18 roadblocks had expressed their intention to discuss with the government, but were pressured. He reiterated the need for a more serious approach from the farmers, emphasizing that the government has taken positive steps.
Regarding agricultural electricity, he said that the price is 9.3 cents per kilowatt-hour and there will be a discussion with DEH to reduce it, taking into account European competition rules.
Mr. Tsiaras added that some of the farmers' 16 requests can be discussed, while he rejected requests such as not integrating OPEKEPE into AADE and abolishing the energy exchange.
