Trump Calls Bolton a 'Scoundrel,' Claims Limited Knowledge of Investigation

Former U.S. President Donald Trump called his former advisor, John Bolton, a 'scoundrel' and stated he has limited information regarding the FBI's search of Bolton's home.
According to CNN, FBI agents conducted a search at Bolton's residence, while Bolton himself stated he was unaware of the operation. FBI Director Kash Patel posted a message on social media emphasizing that 'no one is above the law'.
The investigation is related to the possible retention of national security material. Bolton had accused Trump of attempting to block the publication of his book, in which he described Trump as unfit for the presidency.
The collaboration between Trump and Bolton did not end smoothly, with Trump claiming he fired Bolton, while Bolton stated he resigned.
The investigation comes at a time when Trump has intensified actions against political opponents, and has called Bolton 'dumb and failed'.
