Turkish Cypriots Allege 'Arms Race' in Cyprus

The Greek Cypriot side has no imperialistic ambitions, but is trying to defend itself against the Turkish occupation, which has turned the occupied territories into one of the most militarized areas.

Israel is cooperating with the Republic of Cyprus due to its conflict with Turkey, which uses the occupied territories as a military control center for the Middle East. Every problem in Cyprus is due to Turkey.

It is important that the Republic of Cyprus has access to defense equipment and trains its army, as is already happening with joint exercises with Israel and other countries.

For decades, the occupied territories were armed, while the Republic of Cyprus faced embargoes. Turkish Cypriots have always found excuses to seek Turkey's presence, resulting in them being dependent and hostage to it.

There is an arms race on the island, and the action came from the Turkish side. For half a century, the arms race was only in the occupied part of the island.

International circumstances, relations with Israel and the USA, the new EU defense policy and the government's foreign policy allow the modernization of the National Guard. This would not be necessary if there was not a multiple army lined up in an offensive formation.
