Turkish Cypriot parties: Cyprus needs an honest peace, not just a ceasefire

Turkish Cypriot parties and politicians issued messages for World Peace Day, emphasizing the need for peace in Cyprus and internationally, with references to the conflicts in Gaza.
The Republican Turkish Party (RTP) stressed that peace is the only way to build a secure future, ensuring justice, equality, and human dignity. The leader of the RTP, Tufan Erhürman, referred to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's words, "Peace at home, peace in the world," characterizing peace as a work of civilization.
The RTP women's organization condemned the events in Gaza, emphasizing the need for immediate peace. The organization's president, Doğuş Derya, stated that peace is essential for the reunification of the country and the protection of children and nature.
Asım Akansoy, an RTP "MP," stated that there has been an "undeclared ceasefire line" in Cyprus since 1974, but an honest peace is needed. Fikri Toros, also an RTP "MP," stressed that peace, democracy, and justice can only flourish in peaceful conditions.
Zeki Çeler, an "MP" from the Communal Democracy Party (CDP), emphasized that peace is the prevalence of social justice and equality. The "Road of Independence" organization called for a protest rally for peace in the dead zone.
The New Cyprus Party (NCP) stated that Cyprus is in a state of "frozen war" due to foreign military activities and called for full demilitarization.
