The Supreme Judicial Council has decided to terminate the appointment of Doria Varoshiotou, a judge of the Limassol District Court. She announced the news herself via a letter.

Mrs. Varoshiotou's appointment to the judicial service was probationary for a period of two years and expired today. The Supreme Judicial Council rejected her tenure, ruling that she does not meet the criteria for a permanent judicial position.

Mrs. Varoshiotou was the judge in the third inquest into the death of Thanasis Nikolaou, where she ruled that his death was due to criminal activity.
