Christodoulides Meets Jordanian King in New York

The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, met with the King of Jordan, Abdullah, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Discussions included developments in the Middle East, the Cyprus issue, bilateral relations, energy and defense matters, and the upcoming trilateral summit between Greece, Cyprus, and Jordan in November in Jordan.

President Christodoulides invited King Abdullah to the events for Cyprus's assumption of the EU Presidency, including the opening ceremony on January 7, 2026. He also thanked him for ensuring halloumi exports from Cyprus to Jordan and reinstating the ban on halloumi imports from the occupied territories.

Furthermore, the President met with David Zapolsky of Amazon to strengthen cooperation in the digital transformation of Cyprus.
