Christodoulides-Von der Leyen Meeting: Foot-and-Mouth Disease and Middle East

President Christodoulides thanked Ursula von der Leyen for responding to the request for financial assistance to address foot-and-mouth disease and revitalize the livestock sector. He also expressed gratitude for the European Commission's measures to protect Cyprus from future livestock crises.

Furthermore, he expressed satisfaction with the progress regarding Cyprus's accession to the Schengen Agreement.

President Christodoulides and Von der Leyen discussed the conflict in the Middle East and the financial support of 100 million euros to Lebanon. Cyprus is ready to host a Lebanon-Israel meeting.

President Christodoulides emphasized the importance of the discussion on addressing the crisis in the Middle East.
