Arrest of Greek Cypriots in occupied territories: Reactions and condemnation

Five Greek Cypriots have been arrested in the occupied territories, sparking strong reactions. The arrest is considered retaliation for the actions of the Republic of Cyprus against property usurpers.
A Cypriot MEP, in consultation with the President of his party and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has already requested the emergency inclusion of the issue in the first Plenary Session of the European Parliament. He also contacted the President of the EPP, Manfred Weber, and the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, to exert pressure for the release of the five.
A resolution condemning the detention is expected to put pressure on the occupying authorities.
