Council of State: Unconstitutional the professional equivalence of art schools with high schools

The Council of State (ΣτΕ) has ruled as unconstitutional the professional equivalence of graduates of higher art schools with high school graduates. The decision mainly concerns graduates of drama schools and dance schools.
The Council of State ruled that Presidential Decree 85/2022 fails to provide a special category for holders of higher art education degrees, between the categories DE (Secondary Education) and TE/PE (Technological/University Education).
The decision of the Council of State does not concern graduates of Conservatories. Stakeholders are awaiting the announcement of the bill for the establishment of the Higher School of Performing Arts.
With this decision, graduates of drama schools and dance schools will not be classified in the professional grade DE, preventing possible reductions in their salaries in the public sector.
