The Tripoli Appeals Court unanimously acquitted the 13 defendants in the "Spartiates" case, including Ilias Kasidiaris.

The defendants faced charges of deceiving voters in the 2023 elections. Those on trial included 11 current and former MPs of "Spartiates", Ilias Kasidiaris (for moral instigation), and a lawyer (for complicity).

The case began after complaints from the president of "Spartiates", Vasilis Stigas, who initially referred to a "Greek mafia" and blackmail in his party, pointing to Ilias Kasidiaris. Later, Mr. Stigas retracted the allegations.

The then-prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Georgia Adilelini, conducted an investigation into the allegations, with the case reaching the courtroom. All defendants had also been acquitted in the first instance.

The judges adopted the proposal of the prosecutor for the full acquittal of the defendants.
