ND MP Sofia Voultepsi, in an article, attempted to defend Grigoris Dimitriadis in the wiretapping case, causing reactions.

In her article, Voultepsi compares the wiretapping case in Greece with the one in Spain, arguing that there was no similar reaction in Spain, even though the prime minister was also under surveillance there. However, she omits significant differences between the two cases, such as the involvement of state services in Greece and the conviction of those involved.

Voultepsi invokes the Zisis report, which did not assign blame to Dimitriadis, but overlooks the fact that Dimitriadis resigned due to political responsibility. She also ignores that the case is being re-investigated for espionage.

Voultepsi's attempt to downplay the issue of wiretapping has drawn criticism.
