British MP Resigns After Visit to Occupied Territories

British MP Afzal Khan has resigned from his position as Trade Envoy for Turkey, following reactions to his visit to the occupied territories. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus issued a statement calling the visit unacceptable and provocative.
The resignation of Afzal Khan is considered a significant development, as it sends a message of zero tolerance towards actions concerning the illegal entity in the occupied territories. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminded that the UN Security Council resolutions remain in effect.
British government sources stated that the resignation was inevitable due to pressure on the Prime Minister. Expatriates and the President of the National Federation of Cypriots in the UK, Christos Karaolis, welcomed the resignation.
