EOΔΥ Board Resignation: Changes and Next Steps

Changes are underway at the National Public Health Organization (EOΔΥ) following the resignation of its Board of Directors, headed by Professor of Epidemiology Christos Chatzichristodoulou. The resignation was submitted to the Ministry of Health last Thursday.

According to reports, the resignation did not come as a surprise, as there had been friction and dysfunctions in the management of EOΔΥ in recent months, particularly after the appointment of an operational head alongside the scientific bodies of the Board.

The position of the new head of EOΔΥ will be announced based on the Kerameos Law, which defines the procedure for filling positions in public organizations. The administrations of EOΔΥ, EKAV, and ODIΠY will result from a competition.

In the resignation letter, the EOΔΥ Board emphasized that the Organization is in a good operational phase, having been strengthened by interventions and performing important work in Public Health.
