Papathanasis and Kerameos Clarify Training Programs

The Ministries of National Economy and Finance and Labor and Social Security issued a joint press release regarding the training programs, following reports about the Panagopoulos case.
In their announcement, the ministries emphasize that the transfers of the projects were carried out in full compliance with national and EU law.
Specifically, they state that in 2021 and 2022, a series of training programs were included by the Ministries of Development and Labor and Social Security, with the selection of bodies taking place through open invitations and in accordance with state aid rules.
The ministries add that the programs expired at the end of December 2023 and it was necessary to ensure the continued funding of the projects due to the risk of claims for compensation against the Greek State.
Following negotiations, guidance and approval were given by the EU to transfer 15 projects to the new ESPA 2021-27. 14 of the 15 projects were included in ESPA 2021-2027, while the 4 projects of associated bodies were planned to be funded by national resources.
