Palmas: Upgrade of "Andreas Papandreou" and Mari bases on track

Defense Minister Vasilis Palmas stated that the upgrade of the "Andreas Papandreou" air base and the naval base in Mari is progressing. He mentioned that these infrastructures are crucial for closer cooperation with partners from Europe and third countries.

He also confirmed a visit from American experts within January. According to the schedule, the modernization of the bases will begin in 2027.

The Minister stated that an invitation from the US is expected for an inspection of the Republic of Cyprus' equipment programs.
