Israeli Ambassador Condemns 'Unusual Anti-Semitic Rhetoric' in Cyprus

The Israeli Ambassador to Cyprus, Oren Anolik, issued a written statement on Wednesday condemning the emergence of what he claims is "unusual anti-Semitic rhetoric in public discourse in Cyprus in recent days."
In his statement, Mr. Anolik emphasized that "democratic Cyprus protects legal residence, religious freedom, and education for all" and that "what threatens democracy is not diversity, but the spread of intolerant myths targeting entire communities."
The Israeli ambassador called on "all responsible voices in public life to condemn the language of anti-Semitism, the spread of fear, and collective demonization, with clarity, decisiveness, and without doubt."
Furthermore, he expressed his appreciation for "the many voices of Cypriots who have clearly spoken out against this phenomenon" and underscored the "deep and lasting friendship" between Cyprus and Israel.
Ambassador Anolik's statement was reported by CYPRUS NEWS AGENCY.
