Outgoing BBC Director Calls for a 'Fight' for Journalism

Outgoing BBC Director-General, Tim Davie, has called on employees to 'fight for journalism' at the organization, following recent pressures and criticisms.
In a teleconference with staff, Davie acknowledged mistakes, referring to the editing of Donald Trump's speech, but stressed that BBC journalists do an excellent job. He also expressed optimism about the future of the organization.
Samir Shah, Chairman of the Board, also participated in the teleconference. A timetable for Davie's departure has not yet been set, but the Board is in the process of succession.
Davie also referred to the resignation of Head of News Deborah Turness.
