Downing Street: Considering Strengthening Defensive Forces in Cyprus

The United Kingdom has deployed "a significant level of defensive capability" in Cyprus, according to the Prime Minister's official spokesperson, as reported by the BBC.
Asked about the possibility of sending a warship to protect the British airbase in Akrotiri, the spokesperson declined to comment on specific movements for operational security reasons.
Downing Street is considering this option, but no final decision has been made. The spokesperson emphasized that radar systems, air defense, and F-35 jets have been deployed at the bases in Cyprus, adding that the protection of forces is constantly being reviewed.
The Ministry of Defense will provide an update when significant defensive actions are taken.
