Nikos Sofianos, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the KKE, spoke about the moral greatness of the 200 communists who were executed in Kaisariani. He stressed the need for the photos of their last moments to be accessible.

Mr. Sofianos emphasized that the KKE requested measures from the Parliament and the competent ministries to acquire the photos, as the Greek state owed it to the 200.

"The Greek state handed over the 200 communists to the occupying forces," he said, explaining that the Metaxas government handed them over because most were Akronafpliotes who refused to sign declarations of repentance.

Mr. Sofianos suggested that the photos be exhibited at the National Resistance Museum in Kaisariani, the Block 15 museum in Haidari, and at the KKE.

Referring to their identity, he stated that their bravery comes from their ideals and struggles. He pointed out that this identity cannot be falsified and the lesson of their sacrifice belongs to the majority of the Greek people.

Regarding the proposal for a National Resistance museum, he suggested that the name of Kotzia Square be restored to National Resistance Square and that the places in the city that have been stained with the blood of fighters be honored.

Finally, he referred to the high cost of living, demanding measures to alleviate the people and stop the "badly played performances" by the Minister of Health.
