Mitsotakis: OPEKEPE Reform for Transparency

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced a bold but necessary reform of OPEKEPE, aiming for transparency and streamlining of the organization.
The reform includes the integration of OPEKEPE into AADE, a move that Mr. Mitsotakis described as a "breakthrough" for the control of European agricultural aid. He mentioned that over 20 million euros have already been committed and defendants have been brought to court.
The Prime Minister acknowledged that the reform is causing delays, but assured that the priority is to accelerate the payment of compensation. He also referred to the payment of 45 million euros to 40,000 livestock farmers.
Mr. Mitsotakis stressed that AADE will guarantee transparency in the management of European funds.
