Charalambidou's Mini Report on the Human Rights Committee

Eirini Charalambidou gave a brief account after handing over the Presidency of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights to Giorgos Koukoumas.
In her announcement, Ms. Charalambidou thanked the members of the Committee for their cooperation and expressed her belief that the Committee will continue its work. She also referred to the excellent cooperation among the members, beyond party differences, at a time when human rights are under pressure.
Ms. Charalambidou stressed that she will remain on the Committee to support its work under the new Presidency. She expressed satisfaction with the coordination of the multi-thematic team on trafficking in persons by the Ministry of Justice.
Regarding the case of a family of Lebanese asylum seekers, Ms. Charalambidou expressed concern about the lack of coordination between the competent services and requested that the findings of the investigation be submitted.
