Letymbiotis: Cyprus issue is a European matter

Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis stated that the Cyprus issue is a European matter. If there is a clear political intention, an invitation may be extended to Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan. The start of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union took place with a positive step, sending messages about the priorities.

Mr. Letymbiotis mentioned that the Republic of Cyprus has proven that it can act as a reliable mediator. The Cypriot Presidency will be substantial, with Nicosia being called upon to handle hundreds of files, while setting its own strategic priorities.
