Government Spokesperson, Konstantinos Letymbiotis, responded to the statement by French President, Emmanuel Macron, regarding multiple drone and missile attacks against Cyprus. Mr. Letymbiotis stated that Mr. Macron's reference "is not based on data but on the message he wanted to send."

When questioned about the French President's information, Mr. Letymbiotis emphasized that "any information that exists and any incident that has occurred, we have communicated it from the first moment."

Regarding the presence of military forces from European countries, the Government Spokesperson stated that it constitutes a preventive measure within the framework of the strategic cooperation of the Republic of Cyprus with partners such as France, Greece, Italy and Spain.

He reiterated that there is no indication that the Republic of Cyprus is the target of attacks, as the two confirmed incidents concerned the British Base in Akrotiri.
