Cyprus Issue: Negotiator Meetings in Early September

Negotiators from the two communities in Cyprus will meet in the first week of September. According to reports, a trilateral meeting between negotiators Menelaos Menelaou and Gunes Onar with the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General, Maria Angela Holguin, has not yet been confirmed. However, the Greek Cypriot side is ready for such a meeting.

Ms. Holguin is expected to arrive in Cyprus on September 1st. On September 2nd, she will have separate meetings with the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, and the Turkish Cypriot leader, Ersin Tatar.
