Cyprus Issue: Different Approaches and 'Red Lines'

Turkish Cypriot politician, Tufan Erhürman, expressed views on the Cyprus issue that align with Turkey's strategy, advocating for a federal solution with two founding states. Simultaneously, he seeks the support of settlers, a move criticized for legitimizing their illegal presence and altering the island's demographic composition.

In contrast, Öz Karahan, President of the Union of Cypriots, in an interview, emphasized the need to end the Turkish occupation and ensure Turkey's absence from the island after any agreement. He also referred to the return of refugees and described the settlers as a threat to the Republic of Cyprus.

Öz Karahan's positions converge with the 'red lines' of Greek Cypriots, focusing on ending the occupation and protecting the rights of all Cypriots.
