Critical Meeting Between Charitsis and Sakellaridis Regarding the Future of New Left

A critical meeting is underway between the president of New Left, Alexis Charitsis, and the party's secretary, Gavriil Sakellaridis, at the party's offices on Patision Street. The new Press Representative, Peti Perka, is also participating in the meeting.

The focus of the discussion is the future of the party, with a possible scenario being the resignation of Alexis Charitsis from the presidency and leadership of the parliamentary group. The possibility of his departure from the parliamentary group along with MPs Nasos Iliopoulos and Efi Achtsioglou is also being considered.

In the event of the departure of the three MPs, the parliamentary group may dissolve, as it would fall below the threshold of ten MPs. The possibility remains open for these MPs, as well as others, to maintain their presence in the parliamentary group, with Alexis Charitsis resigning from the leadership and the election of a new president.

According to the statute, in the event of the president's resignation, the secretary of the Central Committee takes over as head until the next congress.
