Occupied Territories: Increase in 'Voters' via 'Naturalizations'

A significant increase has been observed in the number of 'voters' in the occupied territories, with one-third of new registrations coming from 'exceptional naturalizations,' according to a report in the Turkish Cypriot newspaper 'Yeni Düzen'.
Within 35 days, 1,445 people were added to the 'electoral rolls,' of which 386 received 'citizenship' by decision of the 'council of ministers'.
The number of registered 'voters' increased from 215,611 on June 26 to 217,056 on July 31.
Since 2020, 2,431 'exceptional naturalizations' have been granted in the occupied territories, with an increasing trend since 2022.
