K. Letymbiotis: No attacks against Cyprus

Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis denied reports of attacks against the Republic of Cyprus, stressing that there had been no such incident. The statements were made during his intervention on Protoselido.
Mr. Letymbiotis underlined the value of Cyprus' strategic partnerships, especially after recent developments in the region. He noted the immediate response of partners, both at a political and operational level, and referred to the strong political significance of the simultaneous presence of the Greek Prime Minister and the French President in Cyprus.
Regarding Cyprus' defense capabilities, Mr. Letymbiotis acknowledged that there is a problem of shelter adequacy, which is being addressed by the government with plans to increase and evaluate existing ones.
Finally, he stressed that there can be no equation between the legitimate collaborations of the Republic of Cyprus and Turkey's actions in the occupied territories.
