K. Ioannou: Message of Support to Assia Families

The Minister of Interior, Konstantinos Ioannou, conveyed a message of support to the families of Assia residents awaiting the return of missing persons, during an anti-occupation event of the Cultural Association "Η Άσσια" in Aglantzia.

Mr. Ioannou emphasized that determining the fate of the missing persons remains a top priority for the President of the Republic, with pressure to open the Turkish military archives and carry out exhumations.

He also referred to efforts to restart negotiations on the Cyprus issue, based on the agreed framework of the United Nations and the principles of the European Union.

The Minister noted that the President of the Republic will travel to New York for a meeting with the Turkish Cypriot leader, aiming to create conditions for the resumption of talks, seeking a solution that will rid Cyprus of occupying troops and guarantees.
