UK Considers Sending HMS Duncan to Cyprus

The United Kingdom is considering deploying the destroyer HMS Duncan to Cyprus. Discussions are reportedly underway regarding the deployment of the ship, a Type 45 destroyer with the capability to intercept ballistic missiles.
The Times reports that the British Ministry of Defence is planning to send the ship to the region amid escalating tensions between the United States and Iran. British Defence Secretary John Healey held a meeting to discuss the potential deployment of HMS Duncan in the Eastern Mediterranean.
This move follows the decision by Greece and France to send frigates to defend Cyprus, which hosts two British bases of strategic importance to London. A government source stated that "nothing has been confirmed yet," with final decisions expected soon.
