Georgiadis: Farmers' Blockades Have Political Motives
Share on:

Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis claimed that the farmers' protests have political motives and aim to destabilize the government.

Speaking on Alpha radio, Mr. Georgiadis stated that many of the farmers' demands have already been met or are in the process of being implemented. He accused specific groups of using the blockades to achieve political goals.

Mr. Georgiadis also criticized the farmers for the impact of the protests on the economy, mentioning that Magnesia suffered significant economic losses due to the closed roads. He also referred to the efforts to upgrade hospitals and responded to criticism regarding staff shortages in the National Health System (ESY).

"Not all farmers are at the blockades, there are some communists and far-rightists, the blockades are not for agricultural issues but to bring down the government, it is a political act and we are sitting and caressing them," he noted.

Regarding staff shortages in ESY, Mr. Georgiadis stressed that there is a plan to solve the problem in cooperation with the nursing sector, providing financial incentives.
