Georgiadis: SYRIZA supported the EU-Mercosur agreement under Tsipras

The Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, accused SYRIZA of supporting the EU-Mercosur agreement on agricultural products during the government of Alexis Tsipras. Mr. Georgiadis referred to announcements by the European left and SYRIZA, recalling that in 2019, under the ministry of St. Arachovitis, Greece participated in the negotiations and approved the final text of the agreement, highlighting elements such as the protection of PDO products.
In a post, Mr. Georgiadis stressed that today SYRIZA, as the opposition, is against the agreement, arguing that it is negative for farmers and the economy. He also referred to reports that the then Minister of Rural Development, Stavros Arachovitis, celebrated the final text of the agreement, especially for the protection of geographical indications of Greek products.
Mr. Georgiadis concluded with the phrase: "Tell the truth for once, for God's sake! Just for a change!", commenting on SYRIZA's change of stance.
