Floridis: Faster Publication of Wills via New Platform

A new platform for publishing wills will reduce the waiting time from 400 days to 3-7 days, according to Justice Minister Giorgos Floridis. The platform, which will operate through the Athens Notary Association, will not impose any financial burden on citizens.
The platform will be operational on November 1st for new wills, while an amendment will be submitted for the 14,000 pending cases in the Courts of First Instance. Mr. Floridis stated that the digital era in the management of wills will free up judges and court employees.
In 2024, 76,543 applications for publication of wills were submitted to the Courts of First Instance, with 64,590 being processed. Deputy Justice Minister Ioannis Bougas emphasized the multiple benefits of the platform for judicial officers, employees, notaries, and citizens.
The head of the Athens Court of First Instance, Christoforos Linos, and the president of the Notary Association, Eleni Kontogeorgou, also referred to the advantages of the new platform.
