Floridis: Investigation into Forgery in the Establishment of "Voice of Logic"

A criminal investigation into the possible forgery of signatures during the establishment of Afroditi Latinopoulou's "Voice of Logic" party is being conducted by the Athens First Instance Prosecutor's Office.

The Minister of Justice, Giorgos Floridis, informed the Parliament that the case is in the hands of a prosecutor and has been linked to a previous case.

The investigation began following complaints of forgery of citizens' signatures during the party's founding process. According to Mr. Floridis, the Athens First Instance Prosecutor's Office has already forwarded the case to a Preliminary Investigation Department for preliminary examination.

Mr. Floridis referred to the provisions of Article 29 of Law 3023/2002, according to which a political party, before commencing activity, submits a founding declaration to the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court, signed by at least 200 citizens with the right to vote.

The verification of the authenticity of the signatures results from a complaint of possible forgery, which is forwarded to the competent Prosecutor of the Athens Court of First Instance.
