Investigation Launched into Explosion in Occupied Territories Causing Blackout

An investigation has been launched in the occupied territories to determine the cause of the explosion at a transformer center in Nikitas, Morphou, which caused a widespread blackout. "Prime Minister" Ünal Üstel stated that the results of the investigation will be available within 15 days.
According to Ünal Üstel, if guilt or negligence is established, the necessary measures will be taken. The investigation will examine all possibilities, including intentional or unintentional negligence and external interference.
Mr. Üstel mentioned that a team of experts from Turkey will assist in the investigations. He also reiterated the issue of electrical interconnection with Turkey, arguing that it is a solution for energy self-sufficiency.
The "Minister of Economy and Energy," Olgun Amcaoğlu, appealed to the Greek Cypriot side for cooperation in the field of energy, proposing the interconnection of occupied and free areas with Europe via Turkey.
The president of KEK, İzzet İzcan, criticized Ünal Üstel and "the directors of the electricity authority" for the situation, arguing that the solution is a federal solution.
Ünal Üstel and the presidents of the two "ruling" parties visited the power plant in Trapeza, Kyrenia.
