The apology of MEP Fidias Panayiotou regarding his reference to 'pellous' (disabled people) has not satisfied KYSOA. In a statement, KYSOA announced that para-athlete Marios Filippou does not consent to the use of his image in Fidias' apology video.

The President of KYSOA, Themis Anthopoulou, stated that neither Fidias nor anyone from his team contacted the athlete. She also questioned the lack of editing of the controversial video and its continued airing.

Ms. Anthopoulou emphasized that KYSOA has no political motives and called the claim of political motives unacceptable when human rights are being claimed. The European Disability Forum has been informed about the matter and is expected to take action.
