Greek Forces Remain in Cyprus – Frigate Rotation

Greek forces will remain in Cyprus for as long as necessary due to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East. According to reports, the four F-16 fighter jets that had been transferred to Cyprus from Souda have been replaced by aircraft from Araxos and Larissa.
Furthermore, the frigates «Κίμων» and «Ψαρά» are expected to be replaced by other Greek warships next week. Athens confirms its intention to maintain a military presence in the region, as emphasized by the Greek Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias.
