Greece and Cyprus to Establish Joint Justice Task Force

Greece and Cyprus have agreed to establish a permanent working group to exchange experiences and best practices in the field of Justice, following a meeting between the justice ministers of the two countries.
The Greek Minister of Justice, Giorgos Floridis, and Deputy Minister Giannis Bougas, met with their Cypriot counterpart, Constantinos Fytiris, to discuss strengthening cooperation ahead of Cyprus's assumption of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2026.
Mr. Floridis provided updates on reforms in the Greek judicial system, including the implementation of the Judicial Map and the new Code of Civil Procedure. He also highlighted the reduction in the time taken to issue court decisions.
Mr. Fytiris expressed interest in Greece's expertise to address delays in the Cypriot judicial system. The proposal to create the working group was accepted by the Greek side.
