ELAM: Solidifying its profile as the 'other right' with new additions

ELAM aims to establish itself as the 'other right' in Cyprus, strengthening its electoral list with figures from the DISY party and the broader right-wing spectrum. The addition of Andreas Papacharalambous, former mayor of Strovolos, as an independent candidate, is a significant development.

Andreas Papacharalambous, despite losing the mayorship, garnered 6,710 votes in the last municipal elections without the support of major parties. His addition follows others, such as Marios Pelekanos, Pavlos Ioannou, and Evgenios Hamboulas.

ELAM seeks to dissociate itself from Golden Dawn and attract right-wing voters. In the last European elections, it elected an MEP, and polls show it recording double-digit percentages ahead of the parliamentary elections.

Christos Christou, president of ELAM, proposed that Andreas Papacharalambous participate in the party's electoral list in the Nicosia district.
