Partial Modernization of Audit Service in Cyprus

The Plenary of the Parliament approved a partial modernization of the operational framework of the Audit Service. However, it avoided addressing the sensitive issue of establishing an Audit Council, as well as the imposition of restrictions on individuals who can assume the positions of Auditor General and Assistant Auditor General.

The changes are moving towards institutional upgrading, but significant issues remain unresolved. More details at dialogos.com.cy.
