Appeal for "Spartans": Prosecutor requests acquittal

The prosecutor of the Three-Member Court of Appeals for Misdemeanors proposed the acquittal of the 13 defendants in the "Spartans" case, including Ilias Kasidiaris. The prosecutor argued that no deception of voters occurred during the 2023 elections.
Eleven current and former MPs of "Spartans", Ilias Kasidiaris (moral perpetrator) and a lawyer (accomplice) are in the dock. The case began after complaints by the president of "Spartans", Vasilis Stigas, about "Greek mafia" and blackmail.
The prosecutor stated that no agreement was proven between the MPs and Ilias Kasidiaris, nor that the MPs received orders from him. She also noted that the situation in the party was "conflictual" after the elections, due to the deletion of MP Floros.
In the first instance, all defendants had been acquitted. The case was brought to the Court of Appeal after an appeal by the Prosecutor of the Court of Appeal.
