EDEK: Apostolou's Dismissal Never Discussed

EDEK has issued a statement regarding discussions in the Political Bureau concerning MP Andreas Apostolou. According to the statement, "the issue of Mr. Apostolou's dismissal was never raised, never discussed, and there was never any thought of dismissing him from EDEK."

EDEK expressed regret for Mr. Apostolou's absence from the meeting, where he could have explained his decision to leave the party. At the same time, it expressed hope that rumors of Apostolou's agreement with another party would be disproven.

The statement emphasizes that EDEK needs everyone who identifies with the party's positions and continues its struggle "for the country, for the homeland, for the people, with ethos and sincerity and with the flag of its long history and the legacy of Vassos Lyssaridis."
