DIKO MP for Larnaca, Christos Orphanides, announced to the party's Executive Bureau that he will not be running for re-election. His decision is linked to reservations he has expressed regarding a possible transfer of Andreas Apostolou to DIKO.

Despite the reservations, the majority of the Executive Bureau members do not appear to be negative about Apostolou's potential integration. DIKO President, Nikolas Papadopoulos, stated that contacts with Apostolou and other potential candidates are ongoing.

The meeting also focused on DIKO's relationship with the government, emphasizing the party's role as a stabilizing pillar. The need for the government to highlight DIKO's contribution was emphasized. Nikolas Papadopoulos described the upcoming parliamentary elections as a crucial battle against populists.

The meeting addressed the public's disapproval of political parties and the need for communication and organizational planning. A timetable for announcing the party's lists is expected to be drawn up by the end of the year.
