Apostolos Sourlas, a lawyer for Maria Karystianou, has sparked controversy with his statements regarding holding referendums on issues such as monarchy and adultery. The statements were made on ONE television station.

Referring to the rights of the "unborn child," Mr. Sourlas argued that abortion is "clear, cold-blooded murder." He also stated that the people should decide on serious issues through referendums, including monarchy and adultery.

When asked by the journalist whether there should be a referendum on adultery, Mr. Sourlas responded positively.

Mr. Sourlas' statements follow previous statements by Maria Karystianou that had caused reactions.
