Cyprus-Germany Consultations on Military Aid

Consultations took place between Cyprus and Germany regarding the dispatch of military aid to the island, according to competent sources cited by ΚΥΠΕ.
The sources stated that although Berlin is not currently planning military support for Cyprus, Nicosia's needs appear to be met in other ways and with the assistance of other countries.
It was pointed out that Germany cannot immediately provide what Cyprus requests at an operational level. For the dispatch of troops outside Germany, approval from its legislative bodies is required.
Furthermore, the Italian Parliament will discuss tomorrow the type of assistance it intends to send to Cyprus.
