The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, addressed the citizens, emphasizing the "highest priority" of the country's and citizens' security amid the escalating tensions in the Middle East. He called for cooperation and composure, while referring to misinformation.

Mr. Christodoulides assured that the competent authorities are on alert and operational readiness. He reiterated that the Republic of Cyprus does not participate in military operations and seeks risk management and population protection.

He also announced the launch of a pilot SMS alert system by the Civil Defense and referred to efforts to repatriate Cypriots from abroad, with the first flight from Dubai having already landed in Larnaca.

President Christodoulides stressed the continuous contact with partners in the EU and third countries, as well as the assistance secured from Greece and France.

Finally, he warned citizens to be careful with information sources and rely on official channels, as there is a risk of misinformation.
