The Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas, stressed from Pachyammos that Turkish provocations and the occupation do not allow for complacency.

During the national memorial service for those who fell in the battles of Tillyria, in the presence of the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, and the Archbishop of Cyprus Georgios, Mr. Tsitsikostas emphasized the need for constant readiness.

He referred to the heroic residents of Tillyria and their resistance, emphasizing that it constitutes a symbol of dedication to national duty.

After the memorial service, runners carried a flame from the Lorovounos hill, where the battles of the 31st Commando Squadron took place.

The memorial service was organized by the Holy Metropolis of Paphos, the National Guard, and other organizations.
