Election Results for AKEL's New Central Committee

AKEL has released the data regarding the election and composition of the new Central Committee, resulting from the Pancyprian Regular Congress of the party in Nicosia.
According to the data, the average age of the Central Committee members is 48 years. The percentage of women increased slightly, reaching 23%. Additionally, over 1/3 of the members are elected for the first time.
829 delegates participated in the voting, with 8 invalid ballots and 821 valid ones. Giorgos Loukaidis emerged as the top vote-getter with 751 votes, while Stefanos Stefanou was second with 744 votes. Stefanos Stefanou was re-elected as the General Secretary of the party.
