The Taxi Drivers' Union of Attica (SATA) has announced a three-day strike in Attica from Tuesday, February 17th to Thursday, February 19th. Nationwide, taxis will strike on Tuesday, February 17th and Wednesday, February 18th.

The president of SATA, Thymios Lymberopoulos, stated that an indefinite strike would be declared when the relevant bill is submitted.

The demands of the taxi drivers include:

  1. No to a forced transition to electric mobility.
  2. A clear framework for private vehicles for hire (E.I.X.) with drivers.
  3. Tackling unfair competition from multinationals.
  4. Access for taxis to bus lanes.
  5. Abolition of presumptive taxation.
  6. Withdrawal of the omnibus bill.

Mr. Lymberopoulos emphasized that the Ministry of Transport is not responding to the demands of the sector.
